This is my personal page that I can show what I learned in class this semester.

Final Exam:

1. We have used technology tools in this class to conduct research and produce work. We have also discussed the roles that technology is playing in everyday life and in education. Think ahead about 5 – 6 years; by that time most of you will have graduated and entered the workforce, the majority becoming educators. How do you see that technology will influence your teaching and student learning? Do you think that more classes will be offered online? What possibilities do you see to expand learning opportunities for students?

I believe that technology will greatly influence teaching and student learning as the year’s progress. Learning opportunities have already been expanding greatly in the past few years as technology in schooling has increased. There is so much that can be done on a computer, especially with the Internet. Online libraries can play a key role in the expansion of student learning, as well as teacher’s webpages (i.e. blackboard), which can assist students throughout the class. Online classes will be more readily available to help students who, perhaps, do not have the capability to be involved in a classroom environment. Technology is absolutely going to play a key role in the expansion of student learning in the coming years.

2. What did you expect from this class? How did the course meet or not meet your expectations?

I expected what I received from this class. I leaned how to better use technology, and all of the things associated with it. This class taught me how to correctly research and find documents from reliable sources through the library, it taught me how to write a research paper correctly, and so much more. This class was very beneficial to me and I believe that I greatly met my expectations of the course.

3. I stressed the importance of conducting research then using the findings to make decisions about educational procedures/strategies/issues. Did you learn anything about this process that you feel has made an impression on you?

I believe that I correctly learned how to find research and use what I found to better put together thoughts about different things in education. It helped me a lot to learn this and I know it will be beneficial to me in the future. The research studies that we had to do were extremely helpful when learning this process, I believe that they were the most helpful in learning the importance of conducting research correctly.

4. What will you take away with you in terms of conducting research and preparing a research paper? Do you feel that you have strengthened your skills in writing a research paper? If so, how? If not, how could the course materials/instruction have better met your needs?

This class has taught me how to correctly research, prepare, and write a research paper. I learned how to use the online library to find the research I was looking for, I learned how to correctly write in APA format, and I learned how to put together a research paper correctly. I have absolutely developed the skills of writing a research paper to the best of my ability, and I know that it will greatly help me in the future.

5. What are your thoughts about the wiki experience? Do you think wikis could be an effective technology tool for education?

The wiki experience was interesting. I never knew what a wiki was before and it was a bit of a difficult concept to grasp, however once my group and I began making ours, I became more aware of how beneficial wikis could be in the field of education. Teachers could make wikis for better learning for students; students could make wikis to show the teacher and other classmates what that have learned. I believe that in the future, wikis are going to be a very important tool for education.

6. This course is a general education requirement for ALL undergraduate students at Towson. Do you agree with this course requirement? Why or why not?

I am not sure if I agree with the fact that this is a general education requirement for ALL undergraduate students. I believe that there are majors at Towson University that do not necessarily need the skills of technology to better their education that has to do with their major. There is a variety of majors that could benefit greatly from this class, however I do not know if all of them can. Although, with the fast pace advancing of technology, it could be a good idea to keep this a general education requirement for all majors because of the fact the in a decade or so technology is going to be so much more used than it is even now.
