This is my personal wiki page. This page contains different works and assignments done by me throughout this course. It also show cases what I have learned and accomplished in ISTC!

1. We have used technology tools in this class to conduct research and produce work. We have also discussed the roles that technology is playing in everyday life and in education. Think ahead about 5 – 6 years; by that time most of you will have graduated and entered the workforce, the majority becoming educators. How do you see that technology will influence your teaching and student learning? Do you think that more classes will be offered online? What possibilities do you see to expand learning opportunities for students?

Since I did my research paper on this exact subject I do have some substantial understanding of it. Although I am not an education major I see some substantial things happening in correlation to technology and education and even in other work forces.

Technology is the fastest and most efficient gate way to communicate with others and with this efficiency more school districts and teachers will be using it to their advantage. Instead of collecting hundreds of papers a day teachers will use things as you did with digital drop boxes and wiki spaces. Technology will change the way students receive their education and I think with online classes becoming more prominent more people will be prone to get an education with no excuses of not having time or a school in their proximity.

2. What did you expect from this class? How did the course meet or not meet your expectations?

I honestly did not know what to expect, i took this as a gen ed and knew there would be a research paper involved. The course was really cool because I had never used so much technology in any course in college or high school. It definitely taught me a lot about using the web to our advantage when learning.

3. I stressed the importance of conducting research then using the findings to make decisions about educational procedures/strategies/issues. Did you learn anything about this process that you feel has made an impression on you?

While looking at research data and making up our own for the wiki projects I didn't find out much about the process that I didn't already know. I have been conducting surveys and researches in other classes and courses for years. But it was interesting to look at more professional research data and see a more complex side of it all.
4. What will you take away with you in terms of conducting research and preparing a research paper? Do you feel that you have strengthened your skills in writing a research paper? If so, how? If not, how could the course materials/instruction have better met your needs?

Writing the research paper, I definitely learned tremendous amounts. The time and effort that went into it was hard but it taught me time management, which may not be something many get out of it but i truly feel i did. Having to organize all the data and you assigning us little things over the course of a few months really benefited me.

5. What are your thoughts about the wiki experience? Do you think wikis could be an effective technology tool for education?

Definitely, I think the wikis really show cased all of the groups hard work. It was cool how we got to look at the other groups wikis whenever we wanted. People did some really amazing things visually and informationally with their topics and I learned a lot from doing our own and looking at the others.

6. This course is a general education requirement for ALL undergraduate students at Towson. Do you agree with this course requirement? Why or why not?

I would say I am impartial. But I don't think it one hundred percent necessary for a major that isn't education. I personally have written research papers in other classes and although i did learn a lot in this class and enjoyed I thoroughly I don't think it should be a requirement for a major such as mine, mass comm.
